The creation of Nestlé’s expansive new UK headquarters required us to provide flooring solutions for open-plan office spaces, perimeter meeting rooms, executive offices, commercial kitchens, private dining rooms, a restaurant dining area, and a gymnasium.
With a restrictive, time-sensitive framework for this project we were required to specify and install products which not only suited their use in terms of beautiful appearance and long-term wear, but which could be sourced at short notice from our reliable industry partners.
We specified and installed Interface's Common Ground carpet tiles throughout the building. This product was chosen because it is stylish and hard-wearing, with good stain resistance, meeting all aspects of the client’s brief.
Wood flooring was requested for the restaurant and breakout areas, so it was important to find the right product to create a smooth transition to the other floor finishes, which were installed on raised access flooring. We specified and installed Weitzer Parkett’s WP Oak Strip in a parallel layout to create a ‘barcode’ design in the floor.
Forbo Flooring’s Walton Linoleum was laid as feature perimeters to the wood floor corridor walkways, and in the back-of-house areas.
Altro Stronghold Safety Flooring was specified for the commercial kitchens, and was coved and heat welded to form a seamless, water-resistant floor. This is an essential feature of commercial working environments.
